Our patient named Arda M. applied to our clinic because he was not satisfied with his current dental appearance and wanted to have a more organized, more aesthetic and more complete smile. In the first evaluation, it was seen that there were previously made veneers especially in the upper jaw, these veneers lost their aesthetic integrity over time and that the teeth could be made more harmonious in terms of form, color and alignment during the smile.
Our patient's expectation was not only to have whiter teeth. Applied Treatments
During this treatment process, the following procedures were applied to our patient:

The priority in this planning was the controlled removal of the existing old veneers and the reevaluation of the teeth both from a health and aesthetic point of view. After the old veneers were removed, the underlying tooth tissues, the areas in need of root canal treatment and the infrastructure suitable for restoration were examined in detail.
Patient's Initial Condition
When Arda M. came to our clinic, he had previous veneers in his mouth. Although these veneers provided integrity in the smile line, they did not meet our patient's expectations in terms of color, form and aesthetic harmony over time.
In the initial photograph, it can be seen that the old restorations in the upper anterior region dominate the smile and a more modern and balanced design is needed in the overall appearance of the teeth. Our patient wanted a cleaner, more organized and stronger smile.
At this point, the treatment was not only considered as "renewing old veneers". Because the health status of the teeth under the old veneers, current oral hygiene, gum harmony and the need for root canal treatment were also important for the success of the treatment.
Initial Examination and X-ray Evaluation
A panoramic X-ray evaluation was performed before treatment started. X-rays were evaluated for existing old crowns, tooth roots, supporting tissues, missing tooth areas and general oral structure before treatment.
This stage is especially important for patients who are planning comprehensive zirconium veneers. Because in veneer renewal treatments, not only the visible tooth surface but also the tooth tissue under the veneer should be taken into consideration.

Why were the old coatings removed?

Over time, old veneers may develop color incompatibility, malformations, problems with gum compatibility or the need for treatment of the underlying tooth tissue. For this reason, it is not enough to evaluate veneers only according to their appearance.
During this process, old crowns were removed in a controlled manner. Then the condition of the underlying teeth was examined and it was determined which teeth needed root canal treatment, which areas needed restorative support and which areas needed a more aesthetic form.
Why 22 Zirconium Veneers Preferred?
In this treatment plan 22 zirconium crowns was applied because the need for both aesthetic integrity and functional durability were considered together.
Zirconium veneers are a preferable option due to their durability, aesthetic appearance close to natural tooth color and the integrity they provide in large restoration plans. In the planning for Arda M., the aim was to make not only the upper anterior region but also all areas visible during the smile more balanced.
Replacing only a few teeth, especially in cases where old veneers are renewed, can create incompatibility in terms of color and form. For this reason, a more comprehensive zirconium planning was made by evaluating the smile line and intraoral bite relationship together.

6 Why was root canal treatment performed?
One of the most important issues in veneer treatment is to make the restoration on a healthy dental substructure. In the evaluation for Arda M. 6 teeth need root canal treatment detected.
Root canal treatment can be applied in cases where there is a problem in the internal tissue of the tooth or where it needs to be supported before restoration. The aim is to protect the tooth in the mouth and to ensure that the crown is planned on a healthier basis.

Tartar and plaque accumulation can make it difficult to read the gum line correctly. However, in restorations such as zirconium veneers, gum harmony is very important for the aesthetic result to look natural.
For this reason, detertraj procedure was included in the treatment plan to regulate oral hygiene, support gingival health and ensure a healthier progress of the impression/proofing stages before starting the restorations.
How was Smile Design Planned?
In the smile design prepared for Arda M., a more masculine, clearer and stronger tooth form was aimed. When designing a smile for male patients, care should be taken not to make the teeth look too round, too small or too artificial.
Therefore, the following criteria were considered together in the design:
- The relationship of the teeth to the lips
- The amount of teeth visible during a smile
- Length and width ratios of the front teeth

4th Appointment: Plastic / PMMA Proofing
Fourth date PMMA proofing is done. At this stage, the patient does not receive the final zirconium, but draft teeth made of plastic material.
Thanks to the PMMA fitting, our patient was able to see the overall size, length, width and smile line of her new teeth before the permanent procedure.
At this stage, the following details were particularly considered:
- Is the size of the teeth compatible with the face and lip structure?
- Does the smile line look natural?
- Are zirconium veneers perceived as too big or artificial?
- Is the upper and lower jaw appearance balanced?

The PMMA proofing allows the necessary adjustments to be made to the design before proceeding to the final zirconias.
5th appointment: Dentin Proofing
Fifth date dentin proofing made. At this stage, no more plastic drafts, but real zirconium restorations before polishing and final polishing were tried in the mouth.
Dentin rehearsal is one of the most important control stages before final finishing. Because in this appointment, the color, form, harmony with the gums, bite relationship and the result that the patient sees in the mirror are evaluated together.

- Is the form of the teeth balanced with the facial structure and lip line?

6th appointment: Finishing and Permanent Bonding
At the sixth appointment, the finishing phase began. This is the final control and permanent bonding phase of the treatment.
Since the necessary controls were completed after the dentin fitting, the final state of the zirconium veneers was evaluated at this appointment. Color, form, bite, gingival harmony and the patient's aesthetic approval were checked again.
When everything went according to plan and the patient approved of her new smile, the zirconium veneers were permanently bonded.
After all stages of Arda M.'s treatment were completed 22 zirconium crowns permanently applied. Thus, the irregular appearance, color incompatibility and form problems due to old veneers were renewed with a more balanced, more aesthetic and more complete smile planning.
